Vegas comes with the MainConcept MPEG1/2 encoder (but it's not version 1.0 - it's newer than that). If you install and register DVD Architect, the MPEG2 encoders are automatically unlocked.

Not disagreeing, but why does it require registration of DVD-A?

Registering DVD Architect automatically unlocks the MPEG2 encoder. If you only install Vegas, it can be unlocked but requires a separate step. Either way, it should be available as soon as Vegas is installed.

AC3 does require DVD Architect registration to be unlocked or it requires the purchase of the AC3 encoder. (Makes much more sense to install and register DVD Architect)
