Purchase DVD architect?

So, if I purchase this version of Sony Vegas 8,
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...o_8_Video.html
where can I buy DVD architect?

This BH exclusive copy of Vegas is just the NLE without DVD authoring.

You would have to "upgrade" the Vegas + DVD which would also give you another copy of Vegas. DVD Architect is not sold separately.

Can you upgrade Vegas 8 with Vegas 8?

If not, it still comes with DVDA and the total is cheaper than buying full Vegas 8 + DVD. Creative consumerism.

I would think you should be able to do so. You'll have to call customer service and ask.

It will work, according to Sony CS.

I called sony customer support and spoke with a Vegas rep. I told him that I had purchased a version of Vegas 8 from bhphoto without DVDA. I asked if the Vegas 8 "upgrade" package included the full version of DVDA and he confirmed that it did. Basically, he said that the Vegas 8 upgrade install splash screen will have an option to install the full DVDA only.

My Vegas Movie Studio 6 functions the same way, so I could always author with the studio version of DVDA, but I'm sure there are some other features in the "pro" version.

Sounds like a winner.

A big advantage of the "pro" version is that you could also author bluray discs as well.

In order to take advantage of that I also need to upgrade to a bluray burner and HD camera.........

Is there a point in video work where I don't think I need to spend several thousand $$$ or is it a living process?
