I agree with Edward.
I very rarely use Track Motion as I find that I can easily accomplish most of what I need to do with Pan/Crop and get image quality better results. |
Just a thought - if I use TRack motion on a track above the footage I am pan/cropping (separate track), will this affect the picture?

No. What you do on other tracks won't affect the Pan/Crop.
