Sony pulled the press release and reports for various reasons known only to them. See these threads for additional information.

I know they pulled the release, but it is still in the forum on their website...I would think they would have pulled it there first.

Yes?

I'm not in control of their forums or associated with Sony in any way, so I have no knowledge of their operations. Sorry.

We are in possession of documents that ask all people under Sony NDA's to abide by their signed agreements. Many of the moderators are under such agreements and as such it would be impossible for them to moderate their forums with the disclosures contained in some posts.

Well I guess Sony Vegas 5 is fully ready to work with HDV or it wouldn't have been moved here. Sony said it would only release an HDV cam when software solutions were in place. Sony owns Video Vegas, so guess who's coming out with an HDV cam?

Ken, I don't know that for certain. Several posts were removed today, then restored. I could have put this in the wrong forum. I'm moving it to the Vegas forum, to keep these posts all together.

Sony has quite a sophisticated marketting philosophy. This is the second time they "mistakenly" leaked a story then pulled it. It has created quite a buzz, and AFAIK, somewhat manipulative. Oh well...business, as usual in America.

Bill,
Or the other way to look at it...Sony just blunders sometimes with releases...just look what happened with the PD170....

Yes, but fortunately they aren't the only ones to blunder whether "mistakenly" or not.

Leak it and they will want it...

We will leak no new product news before it's time...
