That little Arming Target

When doing voice over, the little target on the left of the timeline (you'll see the levels indicators appear when it's active) sometimes doesn't show up, and I can not arm the audio track. It's very frustrating. One time it shows up and works, another time it's not visible and the track will arm.

How do I keep the that little arming target visible at all times?

What aim I doing to make it disappear?

I'm using 8c.

it sounds like the track header is too narrow. Take the cursor and pull the header to the right and make it a bit bigger and that SHOULD take care of it.

Expanding the track was the first thing I tried Dan. I can work on a project. Everything works fine, then close the project, re-open, and the little bugger is gone. Then ten minutes later while I'm editing something else the little bugger appears again!!! It's like chasing a ghost.

I have never had any kind of bug or problem with 8c. Am I clicking something or somewhere to cause this to happen?

oh OK then the only other thing I can think of is to call a "ghostbuster".

Serioulsy though, I've never seen that and honestly can't think of anything that would cause that.
Sorry.
