Rendering Help

I'm trying to get a decent render directly from a .MOV file from my T2i. These are all tests as I barely know what I'm doing. I've tried a variety of formats. So far, I'm experiencing moire in a blue textured shirt and on most formats, stuttering. I have a brand-spanking new 920 (stock) with 6GB RAM on a GTS250. I can play the MOV files natively and pile on quite a few effects and transitions before it begins to bog. So, I know the computer is not stuttering.

My first goal is to render to HD just so I can watch the results.
Second goal -- upload to web.
Third goal -- create DVDs for friends, probably SD as Blue is too spendy for me.

At the moment, I'm getting best results with wmv format.

Your suggestions are very welcomed!

Thanks,
Burt

Interlacing will cause that moire pattern. Fine lines and interlacing do not mix well.

T2i produces non interlaced. Correct me if I'm wrong. I assumed all files were progressive.

All files are not necessarily progressive. Your T2i files may be. But the project settings may not be. The rendered files may not be.
