Problem with recapturing media from tape

I'm trying to recapture about 80 short clips from 5 MiniDV tapes but I'm having some trouble.

The capture app spends a while seeking the right timecode but then gives up with a message saying it can't find it. Timecode is shown correctly on the camera and in the capture app and I am using the same camera as the footage was originally shot on (Canon XL2).

I shoot using continuous timecode. I can't see how that would affect the recapture but I mention it for completeness.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

All good questions! Yes to both.

I select the clips I want to recapture and on inserting the tape VC6 tries to locate the first clip - it stops and starts a lot but eventually gives up with the error message. To my knowledge there is no break in TC.

I'm now recapturing manually (up against a deadline) but annoyingly I can't find the in and out times - I thought they would be shown in media properties but I was mistaken. I guess they would be shown in Media Manager (which I don't use - but may now consider!!).
