Locking or attaching markers to clips

PROBLEM: (now solved)

Is it possible to attached a marker directly to a clip, so that it moves with that clip on the timeline? Ripple isn't quite what I'm looking for, as it affects all the other clips/markers on the timeline.

The trimmer markers, I can save in a subclip, and retrieve on a subclip, but those markers DON'T show up in the timeline (and have a numbering scheme that seems seperate, beginning with "1" in the trimmer after there is already a "1" on the timeline). I've tried adding the subclips (with embedded markers) via the Project Media window and directly from the Trimmer window. Both cases do not bring markers along..

****EDIT****
SOLUTION:

View>Event Media Markers>Show Markers

You can put markers on a clip in the trimmer and those markers WILL show up when you add a clip to the timeline. However, they'll just be little orange lines within the clip on the timeline and will not be editable on the timeline.

Ed - any chance I need to change a setting to 'see' the markers this way? I don't see the orange line...

With markers brought in with a clip from the trimmer, I can't seem to figure out how to snap to them on the timeline.

Wade, assuming you're using a Pro version of Vegas, run the "Promote Media Markers" script.

Well that was super simple! Thanks Mike. So that script "promotes" the clip level markers to timeline level markers? Is that a simple way of describing all it does??

That sounds about right Wade.
Here's what the script itself says (after opening it with Notepad for a look):

This script will "promote" the markers and regions embedded in the
selected events' media to project markers and regions.

Note that more than one marker can not exist in the same
location. When this type of failure occurs, the script records the
error, continues promoting the remainder of the markers and regions,
and informs you of which ones failed upon completion.
