No more Thumbnails

Hi, I recently upgraded to Vegas 10.0d. Now, when capturing video clips I no longer have thumbnails of the captured clips. Instead I get an icon that looks like a bit of old movie film with a discription of the clip. I have tried every setting I can think of and cannot get the thumbnails to show up. Any advise? Bob

Re: No more Thumbnails

Options - Prefs - Video - Thumbnails to show in video events
Change to desired display setting.

Re: No more Thumbnails

Don't know why they set it to the default setting that they choose, I don't care for it at all. I imagine it's a tad easier on the PC, but can it really make that much difference?

Re: No more Thumbnails

Jeff, I have no idea either.
I personally switch it back immediately as I like it that way.
As I recall, it was changed in Pro 9 and needless to say, there were a lot of puzzled users when they first fired it up.
Those who actually read the manual or the readme notes weren't confused so I guess it does pay to RTFM once in a while :)

Re: No more Thumbnails

FWIW,
They prob were just going the way of the other NLE's, Avid and Premiere only have one thumb at the beginning of each clip, Im not near my Mac but I think Final Cut is the same too.
I like lots of thumbs too, would like to know if it does add any effort to the system to display it though.

Re: No more Thumbnails

most certainly!!!

i use head/mid/tail thbs, i found re-drawing them all the time certainly slowed down previewing, etc.

Re: No more Thumbnails

I think Bob might be referring to the items in the media bins rather than the timeline. If so, there is an icon at the top of the media assets pane which will change the view from icons with details, list or thumbnails. I'm away from home so I can't open up Vegas, sorry.
