Thread titles
This is not a problem but just curiosity. I have noticed that some postings have their thread titles displayed in bold lettering and I am wondering how this is done. I can't find any way of selecting the font or boldness or underlining.

Re: Thread titles
Sorry Leslie but I'm no wiser. I think I've searched every inch of this site and can't find any reference to how to alter the style of thread titles. Indeed when I type in capitals they are printed on the post as small case.

Re: Thread titles
What Leslie was saying is that you don’t/can’t change the style of the thread title because the forum software remembers which messages of which threads you have read and which you have not.
If a thread has had one or more new messages posted after the last message you have read, it shows the title of such a thread in bold letters as a visual clue so you can keep up with all the new messages and do not waste your time wading through old messages. Such threads are also preceded by a little check mark. If you click the mark instead of the title, the forum will show the first unread (by you) message in the thread. After that, the check mark vanishes and the title of the thread is no longer displayed in bold, though you may have to reload the page for that to happen. Personally, I always start reading the oldest thread with unread messages and work my way up to the newest messages. And if there are many and I forget which thread I have finished reading (happens at my age), I just hit F5 to reload the list of the threads so I can see which thread to read next. |

Re: Thread titles
The threads that have messages that you haven't read are highlighted using bold lettering. In theory the system remembers what you've read and if there's anything new in a thread it highlights the thread title. I say in theory, because it doesn't always work the way it should.
