You realize you can type new numbers into that drop-down box? Just click on the text and type in 2.00 and you'll get the aspect you want. You might need to adjust the pixel height/width too...

Re: Vegas Anamorphic support

Are you asking about setting the aspect ratio of video events on the timeline? If so, you can set the value to anything you desire - type in the value (e.g. 2.0) rather than selecting one of values in the dropdown list.

Don't know whether this will help at all, but I wrote a script a while back that will allow you to change all selected events on your timeline. Be cautious! It hasn't been thoroughly tested.

I use an old "aspect ratio" script on every HD to SD job, works perfectly. I don't know if this is yours or not Jerry, but I think it's been around a long time. It will change aspect ratio to match any template in the properties menu, so if you create a new template Bubba, then select all the clips on the timeline, then use this script or Jerry's, and it's done, quick as a bunny.

Re: Vegas Anamorphic support

Jeff,

Actually, my script and the one you posted do two entirely different things. As you mention in your post, "aspectratio" uses pan/crop to crop each video event to match your project settings. It does nothing with the "Pixel Aspect Ratio" of the selected video events.

The script I posted above merely sets the "pixel aspect ratio" on each selected clip to the value you specify. It does nothing with pan/crop, nor does it use the Vegas Project Properties.

What was the OP looking for? I'm not quite sure - but now he has choices [grin].

Re: Vegas Anamorphic support

I see, thanks for that Jerry. In my case my footage always matches on the timeline, so I'm good with setting PAR in properties, saving and forgetting it.

I use the "other" script for cropping HD footage to 16:9 so Vegas doesn't have to resize it. Seems to work well. Workflow was suggested by the Cineform folks, I love it.
