Why needs to encode to H.264, if Youtube itself do that very well? I just upload deinterlaced MXF. The final quality meets better than twice re-encoded.

Re: What template to use for YouTube?

I'm using the Export to YouTube from within Vegas. Isn't that good enough?

Always willing to learn.

Grazie

It's located in that same drop down File Menu you are looking at :-

File >> Upload to YouTube

It works well for me; does the render and sends my media to YouTube.

Re: What template to use for YouTube?

I don't use Youtube, sadly, and it seems to send it directly to there as it requires passwords, etc. I would prefer if just rendered it and allowed me to upload to when and where I choose. Maybe it does that, I don't know.

Why "sadly"?

Well, how it works from Vegas is that you HAVE to p/w into your account; the file gets rendered; gets sent to YOUR own account/centre and YOU decide when, and if, it gets released. Not YT.

Cheers

Re: What template to use for YouTube?

It's a great idea, but I would prefer a setting for rendering "for" Youtub, not one that uploads for me.

Sadly was an overstatement, I'm quite happy with Vimeo.
