Slowing speech without distortion at DVinfo.net

A friend of mine told me there's a way to slow up speech without distortion. Vegas creates artifacts and changes the pitch slightly, does anyone know a way around this?

Try the Time Stretch/Pitch Shift Control :-

Right click on the Audio Event and select PROPERTIES from the Drop Down Menu. In the Audio Event Tab use the "Classic" Method - see above. Or if you've got Elastique installed use that.
