I have v18 installed and being used.

Every time I start it, I get a notice saying there is a major update available which I can install immediately. (I forget all the options that follow but this will be near enough.)

When I click on proceed, I'm told the update is downloading. When that is finished I'm asked whether I want to install. I say yes and eventually I'm told it can't be installed because the program is open. If I close the program before this point, the update window disappears, so I can't do any more with it. One time when I hit proceed (or whatever it was) the program disappeared, but was still told it was open.

As a consequence I apparently do not have the update installed...and cannot get it installed.

Any thoughts?

This has been an issue for the past couple of years. The problem is that Vegas is not properly exiting so the install is never happening. The best thing to do is download it directly and then you can install it manually.

One of the fixes in this version...
Fix issue where Auto-Update fails due to "Application still running" error. (This will not have any effect for users until the next update.)
