Re: Multi-cam post workflow in FCP with different codecs

Use Compressor to transcode to ProRes in whichever ratio you want (422, 444). It'll make your life much easier. I'm not sure if it'll let you multicam different codecs anyway. I know different frame...

Re: MOV. file repair

Update the firmware on your 7D. It was a big problem until Canon released a firmware update. I haven't had a corrupt file since.

Re: What's in a name?

We're told very often that clients remembered who we were because they could remember our name as opposed to Joe Bob Whateverography. The other choice we made with our name was that it didn't mean...

Re: CropFrame to Full Frame...Lens Suggestions

I like the 24-70 much more on a full frame camera than a crop. It's kind of a weird range on a crop sensor; not very wide, not much tele.

The 70-200 is likely too much. You'd probably need quite...

Re: iMac, Macbook Pro, or both?

I have both a 27" quad i7 iMac and a 2008 Macbook Pro Intel Duo 2.6.

The i7 iMac has no problem with Pro Res, even with only 4 gb of RAM. The 27" screen is well worth it. 1080p takes up maybe...

Re: Question regarding best output for bluray from 1080 25p

No, I've never had the problem. I was just suggesting 25P to 24P with Cinema Tools. The conformation is done all the time with PAL video to film. The poor quality of 25P in whatever software the OP...

Re: Question regarding best output for bluray from 1080 25p

Using Cinema Tools to conform to 24p may be your only option. Fortunately Cinema Tools does a pretty good job.

Re: Photo/Video Backlinking Project

Absolutely true. However, no link is reciprocated. The idea is there, but the program links no page with a page directly linking back. A>B>C>D>A

But yes, you'll see that your SEO in many regards...

Re: Canon 24-70mm 2.8

That's exactly it. It's a lens I almost always shoot photos on 24mm with a 5D vertically, and I love it. Shooting video it just doesn't do it for me. It's weird, but I'd look into another focal...

Re: Canon 24-70mm 2.8

For video we tend to stay away from zooms. As absurd as it sounds, it generally works out much better to (and we generally do) use the 50mm 1.4 on our 7D with a shoulder mount or monopod, and the...

Re: Photo/Video Backlinking Project

The difference between this and a link farm is the quality of websites. Link farms are generally populated by websites designed only for creating backlinks. This system creates content more akin to a...

SEO Backlinking Project

Hi everybody,

I've developed a backlinking project to increase google search rankings to the people who participate. It's kind of like a webring where you link to one person, then the next person...

Re: Best stablizing software for Mac?

Motion does a pretty good job, but the fact is that shooting with CMOS sensors will give you jello video.

Smoothcam and Motion's Stabilize both work much better when you use the ProRes 422 codec...

We shot this wedding this summer, but I entirely forgot to post it on here.

I've used the 50 1.4, 50 1.2L, and ended up buying the 28 1.8 (but regret it now) for both photo + video on a 7D.

I'm thinking that I'll eventually sell the 28 1.8 and either get a 50 1.4 or 135...
