Printers

Well my Epson just bit the dust so I am looking for a new printer. I would like to know what you guys recommend.I do a far bit of photo printing and CD/DVD label printing. I am looking for an ink jet because I want it to be my primary printer. Right now I am looking at the Canon i9100. It seems to be pretty nice and I have heard good feedback about it. I am also looking at the Canon i960 it lacks the 13x9 capabilitys but its price is a lot more attractive.

Thanks,

I've got an i9100 and I love it. I used to do color 16 x 20s in my darkroom. The 13 x 19s I get from i9100 are better, more consistent, infinitely easier to make and cheaper. A month after I got the printer, I dumped my entire darkroom on eBay.

I'm using the Epson 2000, 2200 and 3000 at the moment. The 2200 is the best of those, and I would recommend it if the 4000 wasn't about to come out (next month?). If you can wait, the 4000 looks like it will be a great printer.

Best,
Helen

I have the Canon 960, and it's great for the money as you suggested, Scott. I haven't had a need to print the larger size.

I appreciate the replys. I am leaning towards the i960 mainly because I dont know if i really need to print 13x9s I am curious if anyone has noticed a difference in the i9100 and the i960 other than the larger size.

I would try an Epson again but I am feeling a little burnt after my Stylusphoto 870 died after just 1 year of moderate printing work. And worst of all I just bought a full set of ink for it!

Thanks,

I believe they both have the same print engine. If you ever need to print large you can do it via one of the excellent bureaus on the net.
