Premiere CS 4 crashes

I am having a weird problem, I have CS 4 on my laptop last week Premiere started to crash when I try and open a sequence. Even a new one. for instance I start a new project then I start a new sequence then I double click on the sequence to open the timeline and I get the " Premiere quit un expectedly) error. I re-installed CS 4 and everything. If I leave Premiere at 4.0 it seems to work but if I apply any updates it doesnt. Any ideas???

I had crash related problems that were the result of not having the latest video driver installed.

dynamically linked scenes can be a major instability if you have too many, or they are too long.

How much space is available on the hard drive partitions?

Delete the files in Premiere's Media Cache folder. If there isnt much space available on the drive holding the Media Cache, Premiere doesn't work properly.

If that doesn't fix it, then what software has been installed in the last few weeks?

Thanks for the replys. I just had to do a reinstall of Windows. It was weird it would crash on any timeline new or otherwise even after re-installing CS4. A re-install of Windows then CS4 did it.

I can a constant crashing problem with CS4 and nothing else. I tested the memory dimms one dimm at a time and found a faulty one. Crashes over now.
