George,
There is no need for the two step process you are using for capture in Scenalyzer. Just go to options, capture settings, and scene detection mode. You have three choices: none, datestamp, and optical. I use datestamp most of the time. This will save time and hard drive space. Dan

I don't see that the freeware version offers that. Perhaps you are speaking of the paid version?? For me, this works just fine.
