Get my WAV's off the HHB Portadrive 8 channel?? at DVinfo.net

Hey guys, my sound crew here needs some help.
We're in the middle of a shoot and we've been recording onto an HHB Portadrive, 8 channel and we would like to dump the files onto a mac. We're having some trouble doing so....

We rented the thing, dont have a manual and can't find any info online to help us, basically when we connect with the USB to the computer(mac) it's not recognized or anything. What we need to know, is if we need to either change settings on the recorder for transferring, if maybe the cable is just messed up, or if it's supposed to be recognized as an external storage device on the computer??

Any insight to this would be extremely helpful!
