				Rode Invisilav & Sanken COS-11

Has anyone tried if the RODE Invisilav is compatible with the Sanken COS 11D?

I'm sorry, but what? That's like asking if a Sony camera is compatible with Canon camera. What are you asking?

ah, I get what you're asking now. What's wrong with transpore tape if you want it to be clear. If you want a mounting rubber then there are RM11.

I bought some to try out. The COS11 is a little bit loose but the real problem I had was I couldn't get the included double sided mounting tape to stick to it. I also tried cleaning the mount with Alco wipes before applying Topstick, but even gaff wouldn't stick. Maybe if I roughed up one side of it with fine sandpaper??

I use the Sanken RM11 with both Rode lavalier and Sanken cos11d mics. It seems much better designed than the invisilav... the vast majority of the time you are only using a single microphone so why use something larger than needed; the larger the profile the more likely you will get clothing rub. I find that top-stick adheres well, but I prefer to use Joe's sticky stuff because it's easier to remove. I usually cover the whole thing with moleskin to further hold it in place, but still add the Joe's sticky stuff underneath in order to reduce rubbing against the skin. |
