Need help with LectroRM

I just bought two sets of the Lectrosonics L-series bundles. Like 'em!

A camera operator on the last shoot told me about the iPhone app LetroRM. I downloaded it, but darned if I can get it to do anything, so I was hoping someone here could tell me:

1. Will it work with the L-series

2. Where or if there are instructions

3. How to make it work.

Thanks a bunch!

Re: Need help with LectroRM

Why don't you just call the nice folks at Lectro, they will more than happy to help out. Or there are a few L-series users over on the JW sound group, including folks from Lectro, for instance, president Larry (now retired).
I think I recall reading the remote function was not working and a transmitter firmware (or app) update is imminent.

Re: Need help with LectroRM

Thanks, Rick. I figured that since LectroRM wasn't a Letrosonics product, I didn't need to contact them.

What is the JW sound group?

Re: Need help with LectroRM

The JW group is a discussion forum of mainly production sound professionals.
jwsoundgroup.net

(Warning: OMB type video folks are not treated kindly)

Re: Need help with LectroRM

Thanks. I was able to find the JW Sound Group site, and joined.

I don't know what "OMB type video folks" are, if I am one, I guess I'll find out. :)

Re: Need help with LectroRM

"OMB" = 'one man band', typically, a single video person 'crew' who knows next to nothing about sound.

Got it. I'll lurk from the shadows and learn. ;)

We hire sound guys for some shoots (have a two-week shoot coming up where we have a dedicated sound person), but on some shoots we're doing run and gun stuff and running wireless mics into the cameras.

Re: Need help with LectroRM

Rick, I called Letrosonics. Got great info from them. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes, the LectroRM app works with the new L-series transmitters.

Re: Need help with LectroRM

Sorry I missed this thread, guys, but glad to hear that the OP called and received answers, and glad to hear the L Series system has been working well for you.

I promise to keep a closer eye on this forum!

Cheers,
