equivalent to the AT3031 cardioid that w/no phantom power?
Is there an equivalent to the AT3031 cardioid that would not require phantom power? I've heard that the Oktava 012 also requires phantom. I need sth of this price range for interviews indoors.
Also, how does the AT3031 compare wiht the ME64 cardioid? thank you maximo |

I have a pair of 3031's and they are nice sounding mics. Can't say how they compare with the ME64, though, as I don't have one. But for indoor interviews, why not go with a lav? If you're looking for an interview handheld instead of a lav, I don't think I'd go with the 3031 or other small condenser, looking to dynamics like the Shure ME57 or 58 and similar. Small condeners in general tend to be sensitive to handling noise. And of course the dynamics never require phantom power.
