Hmm. Typical boom operator. Is there such a beast?
Seriously, it varies all over the board depending on what kind of project you are working on and who you are working for. You really don't need much other than appropriate clothing for the weather conditions and a good pair of shoes (quiet and light). The mixer is responsible for the equipment package and will usually have everything you need. Having said that, I've seen some pretty elaborate kits with boom poles, boom holders, headphones (a great idea if you have a set you like), toolkits, flashlights, headlamps, ladders, stools, black-out robes, gloves, safety harnesses, utility belts, batarang, etc., etc. |
