mic for sound effects and live music?
Hello,
please advise on a (probably single point stereo condenser) mic I could use for recording (outdoor) ambient sound effects and also live music performances. Preferably XLR with phantom power. I've read quite a few mic threads here, but right now I'm lost and overwhelmed, and don't know much about these kind of mics. My price range is about $300...

Stereo Mic
Rode makes a stereo mic that has 2 XY coincidental capsules for a little bit more than your budget, but it will be your best PRO stereo mic without creating the XY coincidence setup with 2 small diaphragm condensers and a MIc bar. keep in mind that the 2 mic setup will grant you more flexibility with other scenarios.

Hi Andris...........
What exactly are you trying to do?
Is this in conjunction with a Camcorder? (One would expect so if posted here, but I'm getting wary of presumptions). What gear do you have, etc etc etc. It is possible Gerry has already answered the Q, but I'm still not sure I have all the facts. CS |
