Well I'm still waiting...

I haven't ordered anything yet...one because I don't have a camera...two because I haven't heard whether the tests are completed on the XL2.

Since the XL2 has the interchangeable lens system...will the micro35 work in conjunction with any canon lens or will it be able to work sans lens with only the XL2 body, adapter, and 35mm lens

Micro35 Guide: Where to post questions?

James,

I'm making an assumption that all questions related to the manuals (that are now in many of our hands), should be posted on the redrockmicro forum site?

http://redrockmicro.com/forum/index.php

*Because I've been following the progress of this project on multiple boards (lots of emails), I’ve also posted this same question on the dvxuser site as well, as I'd prefer to track the latest and greatest on the manual, and the building process, all in one place (if at all possible) ;-)

Regards,

~Shawn

Luca - you would do well to go to the micro35 forums: www.redrockmicro.com/forum

The guide, DIY, etc. are all discussed in detail in those forums.

Great Micro35 review in Studio/Monthly Magazine

Hey everyone -

I don't know who of you get Studio/Monthly magazine, but it's quite exclusive and tough to get. There was a really nice writeup of the Micro35 in Jim Feeley's column. Here's the text:

"One of the most promising [approaches] is the Micro35... Hurd is a design engineer and that experience shaped his approach to a key problem that had afflicted other lens hotrodders. When he couldn't find the parts he needed, he engineered his own. The results are pretty impressive. Check out www.micro35.com"

Would you consider scanning the article for us non-subscribers? I'd really like to read what the article has to say

Brian Valente April 28th, 2005 10:34 PM

Hey Daniel - I'm not sure copyright laws would allow that, but drop me an email and I can fill you in.

Brian,

Perhaps you'd be a pal and ask Studio Monthly for permission to at least allow you and James permission to republish the article on the micro site (I suspect that by the time any of us would get our first issue the article will have since passed):

You can get a free subscription here:

Thanks,

Great idea Shawn - we are already in process of doing that!

Btw, I encourage everyone to check out the magazine. It seems like a really great resource for digital filmmakers, cinematographers, etc.
