I am 32 but told I look 32....

Actually, I just lost 120 lbs so people say I look mid 20's.

P.S. If any finds that 120 lbs, leave it alone! It has been known to eat small animals.

LOL! Yeah, I suppose that could hurt a bit. So good to see you, Ozzie—seems like last time we talked you were shooting less and teaching more. Has that turned around?

Ozzie Alfonso

Still teaching, and still shooting. At the moment I'm in transition in many different ways - SD to HD, tape to speed drives, and reducing the size of crews. But the biggest transition is trying to conjure what my act III is going to be. Writing? Getting a grant for my opus? Slacking? Seeing my son through college? (He's a sophomore now.) I like teaching but that's will never be my full-time gig - I would be cheating if I was passing on information about a set of skills I was no longer using. As a pass time I've been keeping a picture blog - http://ozcocoon.blogspot.com/ - I contribute to it when the mood comes around.

Regarding Woodstock, I never regretted not going; I hate crowds. That weekend I went camping in Canada.

Great blog, Ozzie—I really enjoyed reading through it and looking at the interesting photos.

Transition…I’m nearing a couple of those myself. May yours be pleasant, and may Act III include dreams come true.

In an effort to get this thread back on topic I’ll give my annual confession: 48, and feeling as if something is nipping at my heels…

Keeping it varied at 16. I've been intensely into video since I was 14, and I got lucky enough to have had several great national opportunities to shoot and learn with some great people.

Kids I'm 67, started in the biz when I was 17.

At that age in radio we recorded the city football match on a wire recorder and edited it in the back of the van with a cigarette, racing back to the studio for b/c.

I was the assistant on the first commercial stereo recordings in Australia. We made an FX demo tape around Sydney for the ROLA company. They set up a theatre for playback in the David Jones Market St. city store hoping to sell their reel to reel 15IPS playback machines to the public. We made stereo eps of radio dramas with white tape on the studio floor for the actors.

At 2UE in 64 I helped the news guys out by doing shifts in the cruisers. We spent 3 days stationed outside the Beatles hotel when they were here. I looked like sh*t at their reception, Harrison showed me an Indian eye exercise and here it is...

Hold your head very steady for this, eyes open glance hard left, count 2-3-4. Glance hard right, count 2-3-4. Glance up, count, down count. Do this every 15mins when in long sessions.

I ran my own outfit for 30 years, now making commercial airplane vids, the A1 rocks. Stay healthy do unto others....and good luck.
Cheers.

I'll trade you some ankles. I've been riding bikes for WAY too many years. Well....crashing bikes for way too many years. Now they just gave up on me.

I'm 57...left CBS and started my business 25 years ago. That's the same age as my assistant! Go figure?
I was a beta tester for the Toaster...the kind that makes video not burnt bread and did many of the graphic images and animations that Amiga used to market their computers. You know back when IRE was a video term and not what you get when you piss someone off!
Best, Craig

I'm 26 and I'll be 27 this year and a couple short months after that a father :).

I got started in still photo at 12 and quickly realized my severe passion for it ( mostly nature/scenic ), Got into video 5 years ago, and have been making the transition from the static to the dynamic, as well as learning to edit and so on. I'm usually working on short deadlines for clients ( talking heads etc... for the majority ) but would like to make a few short doc's about some of the small towns in the State of North Dakota and put them together in a combination of stories from all over the state. Among a WIDE variety of other desires.

Abraham Lincoln once said, "And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." I am a very lively 63 and embarking on a new career as a Videographer.

Is anyone calculating an average age for these postings?
