I think he meant DV 5000, not DY 5000. It's an industry standard camera - quite popular.

Yeah, I figured as much, although there appeared to have been a DY5000 model from JVC at some point, which is why I was asking.

I'm familiar with the DV5000.

Doing a Google on DY5000 brought up a couple of foreign forum links with absolutely no info other than the camera model.

I have one Canon XL2 with less than 6 hours on it. I bought it to shoot a feature starting this month, but everyone wants to go HD, so we are. I'm trying to start my own business in production doing short films. commercials and Ect. and i am lookinf for this camera. wondering if anyone on here have this camera or something in the area a quality. I have done extensive research and come up with the conclusion that this is what i want to start out with.
