David Clark November 12th, 2007, 01:11 PM Looking for an XL-2 owner/operator for an event in Richardson this Thursday 11/15 from 7:30 to 9:30.
Please respond with rate and any experience in live shooting. Video will go to stage big screens. Also, do you have a intercom setup? Thanks. 972.539.0842
David Clark November 12th, 2007, 03:19 PM Job filled, thank you.
Sebastian Baron November 12th, 2007, 03:33 PM I haven't had to think about renting a camera before but a client I am working for wants to do their next event using a 3 camera set up. We have 2 XH A1s but now we need a third. The camera we are looking for doesn't necessarily have to be an XHA1 but it does need to be HD. I usually avoid having to rent things since the infrastructure in the Tampa area for rentals is pretty weak (or at least it seems weak to me). Does anyone have any ideas or recommendations as to where I could locate a good rental house that has HD cameras?
Chuck Wall November 12th, 2007, 03:54 PM Hi
I have an A1 I rent out should you not be able to locate one in your area.
my email is chuck at dvdpa.com
Thanks
Chuck
Josh Chesarek November 12th, 2007, 05:18 PM What are the dates the camera is needed? I am interested in learning more about the wedding video side of things from an experienced team. I mainly film sports right now. Maybe we could work something out? I am based in Orlando. If interested email me @ josh <at> simplethoughtproductions.com

Matt DeJonge November 13th, 2007, 04:31 AM Hi Jeremiah,
Unfortunately, no. I recently visited North Tampa Photography to purchase some bulbs and a c-stand, and asked the guys if there was a film/video place around and they said they didn't think so. I'm still looking...
Sebastian Baron November 13th, 2007, 06:35 PM Did you ever find a shop around Tampa? I'm trying to see about renting some FireStore drives.
JR
I'm looking to rent a FireStore up here but I haven't had any luck with a rental house yet. Closest I can find are in Orlando.
Jeremiah Rickert November 13th, 2007, 07:01 PM I'll have a rental car during the production, maybe I'll have to drive to Orlando. Basically there are 100 soccer matches in a week and they want them all available on DVD for people to buy. I figured FireStores would be the easiest solution (since we can't set up a computer next to each camera setup).
Seems strange that a city the size of Tampa wouldn't have a rental house.

I'm running into a simliar situation, shooting wrestling match that the promototer wants availible on DVD. It's pretty much a 3 camera shoot I somehow have to keep in sync for 3 hours (doubt that's going to happen). Tape is obviously out of the question and computers are a hassle. There probably is a magical rental house in tampa that is just really exclusive, or at least I am really hoping there is one.

Tip McPartland November 14th, 2007, 07:30 PM We are shooting in the East Bay area on Tuesday, 11-20 and need an additional XDCAM HD. A 330 would probably be okay too. So much the better if you can also provide a 1200 watt HMI w/ stand, 6 C-stands and sand bags and a simple flag kit.
Please respond to tipsd9video@msn.com
Tip McPartland November 14th, 2007, 07:33 PM We're shooting on Tuesday, 11-20 and need a soundman who has experience in reality shows. We have some equipment, but the soundman should have a Sound Devices 4-2-2 (Wendt okay), some wireless kits and boom mic and cabling.
Respond to tipsd9video@msn.com
Tip McPartland November 18th, 2007, 05:45 PM This position has been filled.
Tip McPartland November 18th, 2007, 05:46 PM This rental has been booked.
Ali Husain November 26th, 2007, 04:32 AM I'm looking for some XL-H1/XH-A1 camera operators in the bay area for HD multi-cam gigs. Please message me if you're available. The next gig is Dec 1st near SF, and I still have open spots.
Russell Banks November 29th, 2007, 09:28 AM I am looking for a video graphics design firm to create some intros and graphics for a TV show that i work with.
Mat Thompson November 29th, 2007, 09:52 AM Hi Russell
Would you be open to working with someone from the other side of the pond?
Cheers
Mat
Russell Banks November 29th, 2007, 10:18 AM Sorry Mat, I work for a company that can only work with US TaxID holders
Dale Stoltzfus November 29th, 2007, 01:13 PM Russell,
I would be interested in this job. I don't have a lot of experience, but I would love to give it a try and my rates are VERY competitive. I am confident that you would be satisfied with my work, but I would be willing to offer a satisfaction guarantee since I don't have a lot of past work to show you.
You can email me at mountjoystudios@dejazzd.com if you're interested.
Thanks!
Mat Thompson November 29th, 2007, 04:30 PM I will have an US tax ID within the next week or so if that helps? I'm doing a few bits of work for US based companies at the moment and also get royalty payments for 3d assets.
Shawn McCalip November 30th, 2007, 07:37 PM ... and also get royalty payments for 3d assets.
Sorry for taking this a little off thread, but as someone like me who's working to get more involved with 3D modeling/visualization work, could you elaborate a little bit as to what you mean by getting royalty payments for 3D assets?
Does that mean you get royalties for creating 3D models/animations?
I'm still a little green when it comes to some aspects of business, and I seem to be learning something totally new almost every day. So, if there's a way for me to generate a little bit of residual income with my 3D skills, I'm all ears!
Mike Graf December 2nd, 2007, 03:33 PM Looking for a HDV shooter with camera in Wharton ( 20mins from Newark) for some industrial shots that will be mainly used for webvideo.
mike @ freshguava.com
Ben Winter December 2nd, 2007, 04:45 PM Help!
My camera has gone on the fritz and I need to import footage ASAP. Anyone who can help will be properly compensated!
Carl Middleton December 2nd, 2007, 05:05 PM FX1/Z1U uses standard HDV on miniDV... any HDV camcorder should do the trick for you, as long as it was filmed NTSC (otherwise any PAL HDV will do). Hope this helps!
Carl
Mike Cavanaugh December 3rd, 2007, 01:54 PM Mike,
Just wondering... If the final product is web, why the need for HD?
Dale Stoltzfus December 3rd, 2007, 02:52 PM Actually, it is just transferring data, isn't it? Because, if that's the case, any camcorder that uses MiniDV and a firewire port should work.
I don't have an HDV cam, but if any cam can do the transfer I'd be glad to do it for you!
Carl Middleton December 3rd, 2007, 10:06 PM Any miniDV cam will do the trick if it was shot in miniDV, if it was shot in HDV, it will require an HDV camera to capture to the computer.

Salil Sundresh December 6th, 2007, 11:58 PM Looking for a composer that can score my short film THIS WEEKEND! (Sometime around December 7,8,9). The only compenstation I can offer is credit + high quality internet download of the finished product. It's a short dialog driven comedy around 6 minutes in length, looking for your creative input on types of music. Please e-mail or PM me if interested. My e-mail address is salil@salsunproductions.com
AIM: salilsundresh
Big plus if you have AIM so we can communicate more efficiently, must have flexible hours this weekend as the project has to be ready for Monday morning.
Colin Willsher December 9th, 2007, 03:43 AM Music can make or break a film, why leave it until now?
George Heredia December 9th, 2007, 08:17 PM Man, get SonciFire and do the music yourself...
http://www.smartsound.com/sonicfire/
Pat Celec December 10th, 2007, 11:09 AM I agree....Music is half of the production! Also, check out "Music2Hues" royalty-free buy out tunes.
Edwin Gailits December 10th, 2007, 10:23 PM I'm working on a doc on spec (no funding except my pocket) following a group of CDN salsa dancers going to Orlando, Florida Dec. 13-15 for the World Salsa Championships semi-finals.
I've already shot some footage in HDV using a (borrowed) Sony Z1 and I'm taking my Sony A1, so I'm looking for someone with a Sony HDV camera (Z1, V1 or FX1) in the Orlando area for additional coverage & help.
The event will be broadcast by ESPN and I'm not permitted to shoot the performance on stage, just the back stage, warmup and practice rooms and interviews.
If you have any time on any of these dates and are interested send me an email - I can offer some $$.
Thanks - apologies for the late notice - a few other options I was working on just didn't materialize.
Carl Middleton December 11th, 2007, 12:10 AM I shoot with a Z1, I'm up near Jacksonville.
If you're interested, shoot me an email through this system, be happy to chat with you!
Carl
Scott Vystrcil December 11th, 2007, 03:25 PM Anyone have a Z1U they would be willing to let my church borrow this coming weekend. We are having our childrens Christmas program and would love another camera (already have 1) for other angles/viewpoints. We would be willing to give something for a deposit if you have one to loan.
Salil Sundresh December 11th, 2007, 07:34 PM Music can make or break a film, why leave it until now?
Because this is a student film, (with a very limited time frame) it's more important that I have an end product whether ugly or not or I won't get a grade. But I do agree that music is very important to a production, I found a great composer to work with named Jonathan Brodmann.
I would purchase SonicFire if: I had the money and the time.
Andrew Bernstein December 11th, 2007, 10:59 PM Hi there. I'd like to shoot some green screen footage in my apartment in Manhattan (Upper West Side) for a web project. I have the screen (eefx), the camera (HV20), and some lighting on hand, and would like to find a professional who can come by and talk me through what else I would need and how to make this work (if it can work). My guess is this would be ten to twenty minutes of your time, maybe an hour with fidgeting and helping make sure I buy and set up the right stuff. If you're available for an hour of freelancing, post a response and a way to contact you for more information. Thanks!
Scott Vystrcil December 13th, 2007, 10:33 AM Anyone?????
Danny Natovich December 14th, 2007, 03:25 PM We need few shooters with cameras to help

Anna Harmon December 15th, 2007, 11:11 PM Hey Andrew, I know someone. Send me an email and I'll give you his number. I just sent him a text about this.
Anna Harmon December 15th, 2007, 11:14 PM Is this 16mm? Ha ha, I remember film school. I just put a tape recorder on to accompany my film. Of course, it was in a 101 course but still pretty damn funny.
It's fine dude. Just pick something.
Stu Leign December 17th, 2007, 03:54 PM For a children's birthday party at a restaurant hall.
Nothing fancy or glamorous, just need someone to shoot some video to document the event for personal reasons.
Canon XH-A1, tapes, tripod supplied.
If interested, please respond and/or PM rates. Expected to be about 2-3 hours long in the early afternoon. Not looking to spend a lot, but you will get a free lunch.
Thanks.
Travis Johnson December 18th, 2007, 01:04 PM Interested in collaborating on a script? I would really like to work on short films for now and eventually do a feature. I am interested in writing for crime drama, action, horror, and/or comedy. I have a very vivid imagination but I've never been able to just write just off the top of my head. However with a partner, tossing around ideas and creating something is much more my style. I am online very often and can mostly be reached through MSN or AIM. Celtx is what I'd prefer to use to store our work of course. If you're interested, just send me an email or reply and let's get going!!!
Chris Chang December 18th, 2007, 05:16 PM My company is looking for someone capable of authoring a Blu-Ray disc. Because of the turnaround time of this project, we're asking for people within easy driving distance of Austin, TX.
The total running time would be under ten minutes.
contact chris at syntheticpictures.com
Derrick A.Jones December 22nd, 2007, 11:47 AM Hey man I'm intrested hit me up sometimes and we can talk. i write a lot of scripts
Travis Johnson December 24th, 2007, 10:03 AM Email sent!
Randy Rogers December 25th, 2007, 08:01 AM Little late here...but I'd like to add to the discussion. I can't even find a place to get a camera repaired here in Tampa. I looked and looked. Two of the places in the yellow pages were closed down. And one place answered the phone and said to stop by and they'd take a look. I drove over there twice during business hours (as posted on their door) and they were closed both times. I finally gave up on getting it fixed locally.
