Avid Express Pro and M-Audio 2496
I was recently given an M-Audio 2496 and installed it in my Avid machine. I know there is a history of them not working but now that Avid owns M-Audio you would think they would have solved the issues.
I know some people have gotten them to play nice togehter. and was wondering if any were here and could let me know what they did. I've searched the Avid forums and tried some of the suggestions there (although the on-board soundmax digital doesn't seem to exist since I installed the M-Audio software). I was thinking of a second hardware profile, and disabling the sound card in that one so the Avid would work, but that would be new territory for me. my set up: HP XW6000, dual Xeon 2.66 GHZ, 1.5 Gb Ram, 60 gb sys drive, 160 Gb media drive, ADS Pryo firewire card, win xp sp1, HP DVD-RW. I am a video producer in day job, and voice over talent and video producer of my own projects at other times. I want to do both on the same machine and the M-Audio card sounds wonderful. works with everything I have on the box, except Avid. I've used Avid for more than 12 years and don't really want to change apps Thanks in advance. |
