AVID Xpress DV Problem Playing back Clips
Having trouble playing back clips in AVID Xpress DV 4.6 - The clips capture fine, I can shuttle through them fast and the system keeps up. However when I just try and play the clips I can hear the audio playing but no video playing. When I stop it the clip updates to the right frame. Seems I'm just overlooking some simple setting somewhere. Any help would be appreciated. -Jeff

Are you saying the monitor window is on a freeze frame? Or Blank? IS the track with the video SELECTED (The little monitor icon will show on it).

are you running dual monitors? try moving the video window onto the other monitor.

AVID Xpress DV Problem Playing back Clips
Only have a single monitor, video clip windows are not overlapped. Everything in the timeline is selected properly. I search over AVIDs site and was not able to find a solution. I may just trying re-installing the application to see what happens.
If I uninstall AVID will it delete my project and media I have saved? Thanks! |

Avid Video Playback Problem Fixed
Found out if I just updated my video card with the latest drivers the problem went away. Video plays fine. Realtime with no delay.
Thru the whole process I tried re-installing AVID and did all the Windows XP Home updates possible. All settings in AVID Xpress DV are set at default. The system specs were: AMD Athlon +2500 1GB DDR 2700 Ram 80 Gig Hard Drive 7200rpm for media AGP 8x nVidia 5200 fx video card Sony CD-Burner Abit Motherboard On-Board AC-97 sound card Things are running smooth now. Thanks. |
