Some raw C100 sample clips

I had an preproduction C100 in my hands the other day and did some quick tests.

All of these had the highlights clipped at 85IRE. I don't know why the camera did this, but it did!
It clipped only at ISO 320. I figured this later on when I switched to ISO 800.
I was disappointed because I wanted to see how the highlights rolled of and how the compression stood up when using a LOG profile.

This clip was created after I found this out, but I just had to return the camera so it's unfortunately only this one. It was a rainy day:)

Shot in 1080 25p, cinema gamma, canon 24 - 70, ISO 320 except the last clip is at ISO 800. All clips are in their original form.
I can't tell you any other image settings because the camera had none.

Re: Some raw C100 sample clips

Thanks for providing these files!

In the main C100 thread some users found a wedding video shot with a preproduction C100 that displayed significant moire issues. I was hoping to see some other footage that would demonstrate a lack of moire from the C100. Unfortunately the downloads are taking quite some time from Sendspace.

Did any of these files contain fine pattern/horizontal lines detail by any chance? And if so can you tell me which one so I don't spend the time downloading them all?

Thanks!

Nevermind, the file "00011.MTS" is a great candidate for analyzing moire. Looks clean to me!

With file 00011.MTS can see some moire on the small roof down below on the left-handside of the big house in the middle. Got worse when I put it into PPro CS6

Re: Some raw C100 sample clips

Dan, you're right. It's much better than my 60D but that's still moire. Hopefully it's been fixed by now.

Subtle... I think I can live with that.

Put it into your NLE suite and then render it out to the format you deliver, maybe its just me but it looked worse when I did that.

Excellent test.

Dynamic range varies according to sensitivity, with the maximum at the 'rated ISO', which might be 800 for the C100. Could this be why?

Dan I just discovered reading in a different forum that the aliasing issues occur due to Premiere just not understanding the native field order. It tries to do upper field first instead of progressive. If you select Modify>Interpret Footage and then conform to "no fields (progressive)" then it looks great. This was a great relief to me.
