Just wondering if anyone has any real world numbers on a release date for the 5DmkII?

Really? Where are you seeing that? BH says it's not available until november or december for the body only.

I can't get mine until after Jan 1st anyway (biz budget kicks in) |

Sometime this month is what I've been told... any time between now and Nov. 30th.

For what it is worth, my local camera shop "Broadway Camera" (no not the NYC scam site) has told me Dec 5th.
There are also rumors that the camera by be released on the 28th in the USA. Unfortunately there is no way to be sure. It reminds me of X-Mas when i was a kid... nothing anticipation and hope that you got what you asked Santa for :) |

If you go to this site and click on the red 5D Mark ll HD box, some information comes up with a date of 11/29/08. Two other dates, today and the 23rd are also listed. I can't read Japanese or translate the flash page, but I'd be interested in whats happening on that date. Anyone read Japanese?

I have been assured my 5D II will be shipped 5th Dec (in UK)
There is also no major pre-order backlog here, due to it only shooting in 30P I guess |
