Got the Kata 102. Taking it back. Great case, but not as compact as I want it to be.

There's a company here in NYC that custom makes cases. I may give them a try. What I'm looking for is something that I can use for more "touristy" taping on the go.

Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

P.S. That VariZoom Stealth is a neat little remote.

So, Rus, you have and have used the VariZoom Stealth? How satisfied are you with it? Anything you don't like about it?

I'll chime in on the varizoom stealth. I have one and I love it. The only problem I've had is when shooting in a lot of rain in S.E. Alaska it seems to quit working, then after it's dried out a couple of days it comes back to life. It never got any water on it because I would put a condom over it and tape the end. I think the humidity just got into the circuitry. I hope it doesn't do the same next month when I go back.

I haven't used the Stealth on a shoot just yet (but will in 2 days), but so far my thoughts are:

It's a very good device for the money. It feels solid build-wise and buttons operate just fine. I would have like more "friction" on the throttle (zoom lever) because since the "throw" is short, you have to be very careful about finese on slow zooms. I wonder if there's a way to mod this easily and without compromising the warranty.
