OT: Need 6mm to ¼" Whitworth?

[Ken . .usual request to move where you want to .. thank you .. Graham]

Says it all.

It's for my new external 5" LCD monitor for filming. I can make a bracket . . but would like to convert exsisting 6mm threaded hole to ¼" Whitworth. Not much option to Tapping it . . .

TIA

Grazie

Get a small piece of 6mm aluminium sheet (or 2x3mm sandwiched together) with Araldite. Drill one hole for 6mm bolt to fix to base of monitor and a second nearby tapped 1/4" Whitworth.

Expensive if you don't have the taps and dies (try Screwfix for these); 3mm Aluminium is available in B&Q.

Alan . .you been following me?!?!?! "3mm Aluminium is available in B&Q." . . I was there yesterday! and yes, this is exactly the solution I've come up with. I'm gonna use a nice piece of angled ali [ B&Q ] that will cover the 6mm, drill hole for the ¼" WW and go from there.

As a test I got a 48p - yes 48 pence - fence wooden strap "U" fitting from B&Q .. galvanised bent metal. Might use this instead!

Alan thank you,

Grazie
