LCD screen not working (GL2)

In the last few days, my GL2's lcd screen has been acting up.

It was working on and off, sometimes it would be just black, and sometimes extremely scrambled. I read some other threads on this, and I am pretty sure that the ribbon connecting the cam to LCD screen has been messed up. That's what it sounds like. So if that's the case, do I just send back to Canon?

I've been borrowing this GL2 from my uncle since last October. He bought it new around May 2004. Is it still under warranty? I am pretty sure it is, although I have to contact him and find out if he has an extending warrenty, etc.

Anyway, please give me any advice if you have any. This GL2 is so new, it's saddening to see the LCD already break.

Sorry to hear about your LCD troubles. As long as the GL2 was purchased from an authorized Canon dealer, it should still be under factory warranty. You should send it in to Canon service right away. Hope this helps,
