Bells Winter
Hi everyone
I put together a little surfing video filmed at Bells beach recently. Enjoy. http://www.vimeo.com/1371862 |
Music video for Dolorata
"You've Gotta Want It" is performed by Dolorata, from their debut album "Believer".
The music video was filmed with a stock Canon HV20 and a tripod in just 2.5 hours. On some shots the WD-H43 wide-angle adapter and 2x500Watt lights were used. Recorded with 25% sped-up audio in plain 1080/60i & Cinemode/Neutral color settings, and then the footage was slowed down 25% in post to match the original audio. Edited with Sony Vegas 8 Pro, color graded with Magic Bullet Looks. De-interlaced with interpolation ("blend fields" creates ghosting), and exported in 24p. http://vimeo.com/1373384 UPDATE: Currently Vimeo has a server problem, they expect it to be fixed later today. UPDATE 2: It's back up. |
HV30+Brevis+Macro = Lazy Sunday Afternoon
An overcast and rainy Sunday afternoon in our town. For some reason I happened to have my HV30+Brevis at home plus some lenses so my wife and I filled in part of the afternoon filming this little clip.
http://www.vimeo.com/1415388 The HV30+Brevis combo keeps impressing me the more time I spend with it. Not many wives would willingly submit themselves to a macro lens so extra credit to Katie for this one :) Lenses used: 50mm 1.8 and 60mm 2.8 Macro |

First HV30 24p footage I ever shot
Jack Zhang's first Canon HV30 24p footage (Raw footage of route to IG) on Vimeo
I do mind you that this is raw footage and was only processed to do a inverse telecine. There is minor interlaced combing in certain clips in this video but using Virtualdubmod is a good solution for people without Cineform or Cinema Tools. But because the cadences do break, you must process every single shot to output as a different file. (It would be easier with HDV scene detection, but that is quite buggy). Process it alltogether with the different cadences and there is a risk of combing. (as I learned with this video) |
Changmai Temples In The Rain
The good thing about shooting video in Chiangmai in the rainy season is that you don't have to deal with so much contrast due to bright sunlight (ha ha there isn't any). The not so good thing is the rain of course.
These shots were taken in August 2008 with a Canon HV30 camcorder in 25F, converted to 24P on final output. Chiangmai Temples In The Rain on Vimeo YouTube - Chiangmai Temples In The Rain Music and video by Richard Hunter. |

HV30 Extreme Macro Shoot..
One our guys here Nick (currently a film student) headed out last week and took a piece of advice in getting some pretty cool macro shots. He removed his Brevis flip from the HV30, and affixed our non-flip achromat. This was the result. Forgive the watermark.

That is what it is for. Don't wear it out on 35mm adaptors. David Attenborough. Eat your heart out. So travels the wheel full circle and there is a high quality accessory which might not otherwise have been conveniently available for the camera type. |
