Circuit City showing an HV20

First time I've seen this anywhere...

Tim Le January 24th, 2007 07:42 PM

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle. I would have passed this off as being a typo, but the description is slightly different than the HV10. The specs for the still capture pixel count is different and it mentions HDMI and a microphone input. Still weighs less than a pound though...hmm.

Michael Eskin January 24th, 2007 07:46 PM

I could hardly believe my eyes when I found it...

Wes Vasher January 24th, 2007 08:21 PM

Also the HV10 uses a CCD imager if I'm not mistaken. This page lists a CMOS imager.

HV10 uses a CMOS.

Hmmm....

strange, on that very site they have the HV10 at $1299 and the HV20 at $1099 ?

The info on that site is pretty patchy, have a look at the specs for the HV10 against the HV20, there are plenty of errors in the HV10 specs.

I think it is an error, but I may be wrong.

HV10 spec

HV20 spec

Hv20?!?

Is this a typo or not?

Yi Fong Yu January 25th, 2007 07:55 AM

probably a typo because DVI would post info about HV20 before someone like CC gets info about it =D.

Nick Weeks January 25th, 2007 08:36 AM

It might not be a typo.....

http://www.engadgethd.com/2007/01/25...corder-leaked/

But I figured we would have heard something from canon, DVI, or Camcorder Info first??

Enrico Sasso January 25th, 2007 09:41 AM

For sure there will be a new HV20 coming soon.
Canon have to take high the competition against the new Sony HC7.

Reason why still there are no news from Canon is obvious: they have to sell in the meantime the HV10............

Don't be so sure about that... DV Info Net has never made a priority of being first to get news out on the web. That kind of glory is fleeting. What matters more is to get the information right. That's what we do here. But thanks for the compliment anyway.

Chris, would this not have been a great opportunity to haul out "sic transit gloria mundi" because let's face it, there's just not enough Latin in use here at DVI (in other words, carpe diem!)

Chris Barcellos January 25th, 2007 11:08 AM

We should all be commiserating with the web page desinger who inadvertantly posted that page... probably is getting a pink slip if this is a release of actual information.

Well, if the low light performance is any better than the HV10 and there is a mic jack, I might just replace my HV10. Might.
