Beginner question - File compatibility

Edit - Nevermind. Apparently just dragging the whole Contents folder locally, and importing that to CS6 works. No conversion needed, I guess?

First off, I sincerely apologize if this has been covered ad nauseum, which I'm sure it has. My search feature isn't working on my phone, so I'm unable to actually look for any past threads. If so, please point me in the direction of the discussion.

Now, the question I have is, how to convert these clips to an editable/viewable format in Premiere? I'm used to the DSLR world, where it's natively created as an MOV file on the card. The only format I see on the card in Finder is the CIF, THM, XML, MXF, SIF files.

I've opened the XF Utility, but only see the option to backup or create virtual media. Those aren't what I'm looking for.

I'm sure it's easy, but it's a totally foreign thing to me.

For details, I'm talking about the XF105 and my system is an iMac running 10.8.1 and CS6.

Re: Beginner question - File compatibility

No need to convert, CS6 handles these files natively.

Copy entire card to hdd and ingest via Media Browser.

Or use canon utilty and export to MXF,allows deleting bad clips prior to ingest, and bulk renaming of clips.i use it exclusively, can't see why not, as i don't add canon metadata prior to shoot.
