Is the tinting across the entire face of the dial or a spot? do you see it when the light is on or off?
The only thing that I've had happen once to an LCD screen is that it was affected by the brightness of the sun and browned/greyed over. I was hanging my hand out the car one summer on a long drive and my LCD watch had a large brown spot literally burned into the watch.

Strange. If the problem doesn't worsen and it's not affecting your ability to monitor the camera's functions I say leave it. Now...that's the lazy part of me that wouldn't want my camera tied up in a service center for several weeks.
The other side says if it's under warranty take it in and get it fixed. When you eventually go to sale the camera when trading up (if you ever do) you won't have to answer for the problem to a perspective buyer.
