What kind of tripod and other stuff

I am looking for a tripod for my new canon xl2 camera. I want something good but now more then $300 for the head and tripod. Is this possible? Also on ebay they have the BP 945 batteries for $40 dollars and B & H have them $114, what gives. I also just ordered a KATA ccc1 case. Does anyone have this case? How do you like it?

I think to do proper justice to an XL2 you really need to consider at least a $500 tripod. Most folks I know use a tripod that's in the $1000 to $1500 range. See our forum called "Support Your Local Camera" for all tripod questions.

There's simply no comparing an Ebay auction to buying with confidence from one of our site sponsors such as B&H. If you want to take your chances with Ebay, go right ahead, but here at DV Info Net we refer all "where to buy" questions to our site sponsors.

Please let us know how you like the Kata soft case. Thanks,

I LOVE my Cartoni Focus tripod. Bought from another sponsor: ZGC. Great service...ask for Chris.

Thanks for your input. I have not bought any of my stuff from Ebay yet. All of it has been from B & H and Norman Camera. Not saying I won't I just like to understand how the prices can be so different when they seem to be the same thing. I don't think I could ever buy a big ticket item from ebay, but batteries I would.
