Blue Barn Presets Manager

Hi everyone,

Kinda new here but i've been lurking for a while, learning as much as possible. Great forum here!

Anyway, here's my issue. I just downloaded the Presets Manager and it's not working for me. The issue is that my machine isn't communicating with the XL2... all this time i've shot footage i've always downloaded that footage directly using PPro 1.5 and it never had any troubles with that, but when i get to the Presets Manager, it doesn't see the XL... anyone have any ideas?

I'm running on XP.

Thanks

Angie

Are you putting the camera in EXT. mode for external control?

yes i did that. The Presets Manager still tells me to set it to that mode (it basically still can't see the XL2).

The thing is that when i connect the XL2, Windows detects that something was plugged in, looks for a driver and can't find anything, so it doesn't say something like "found Canon XL2" or whatever and there aren't any drivers that i know of that can be downloaded. I think this is the issue but i don't know how to fix it without any available drivers...

Angie;
You have to download the driver and install it to your computer. Keep searching it is somewhere in there as a free downloads.

Angie,

You might have fixed this by now but look at the preset sticky at the top of this forum. It gives instructions on installing the driver. The driver is included in the download.

Thanks,

Kevin, thanks for the response. I had fixed it by the time you responded but didn't want to make a post about it... I knew there wasn't a downloadable driver from Canon but i had tried so many things that i couldn't figure out where the driver had come from within the Blue Barn folder so i kept my mouth shut! :)

Thanks for your help everyone and i hope this will help others with the same issue.
