Dead Pixel?

Attached are two jpegs of frame grabs from the same section of a video I shot earlier with my XL2. One is zoomed in, the other is normal size showing a white spec which I'm believing is a "dead pixel".It's at the center of the frame, and stays sationary. I was shooting at +12db gain and the iris open wide due to it being in a low lit recording studio. But later on, about 37 minutes in on my tape, after starting up for another take, the spec seems to be gone on the tape. (And I did not change the settings) I know it wasn't anything on the lense for I had checked earlier. (I had the same problem a week earlier, aoso with the gain up to either +6 or +12) But the speck didn;'t show up on the beginning of the shoot according to watching the tapes, but showed up later toward my third tape. I've never noticed this before, although I don't generally shoot at +6 or +12. I'm about to send the camera in for something else, add will be bringing this current concern to Canon's attention as well. But if the problem dissapeared after 37min. into my recent tape, will Canon even be able to do anything about it. It would be frustrating to have more footage like that and having to mask in post. I'm sure I'll have to use high gain settings again for situations.
In order to see the "dead pixel" in the second j-peg, click on it to enlarge it. the white spec can be seen in between the person on the right facing the camera, and the guitar.
