XL H1a locked in dv/hdv in mode (firewire)

Thanks you for reading my post.

For several weeks now, I am having a big problem with the firewire dv/hdv conection.
It is locked in dv/hdv in mode (with's operate automatically). I tried everything i could find on firewire problems on this forum and the web. Resetting the camera, different settings etc etc. I know it isn't the settings of my computer or FCP (I tested on a couple computers). I borrowed an HV40 and that just worked fine.

Now i did find on the web some one with the same problems who contacted canon. He posted that he had to remove the internal battery for 20 minutes.
Well my warranty has just been expired :(

Before i get a screw driver:(
Are there people having the same problem, is there something i can try before i get the screw driver? Or is it dangerous to remove the internal battery for 20 minutes?

Internal battery

Today I removed the internal battery (located in the hand grip next to the SD cart) .. to try if it will hard reset, but no success.
It will reset the same way as you push the reset pin, or "reset all" in menu.
The strange thing is that with the internal battery disconnected the camera still will function.
(when you put the main power battery on)
I guess there is another internal battery or it will takes a couple of hours (days) to fully reset)

Does someone know if there is a service mode I can try, or were a nother battery maybe located?

BTW In the shoulder grip (XL h1a ) there seem to be a connector over maybe for the jack pack ;-)
