And here is one more on barrel distortion and one pic on the 6X mounted on the H1 with rod system. For gear ring (follow focus) we will need a gear ring with 34 cm circumference.

Thanks for the shots and info, Jonas. If you could possibly do a small selection of test photos at outdoor locations sometime in the future, it would also provide much-needed added information on this interesting lens.

Some exteriors shot with the new wide (stills). All shot at full wide. Have a look at the low barrel distortion, extreme long DOF and the angles.

I love the manual iris ring!

I think i have a defective lens. When I have it in Manual mode
and push exposure lock like it says to do the iris ring still does
nothing. Am I missing something?

thanks

I donot have lens but I have ask if you flashed the bios on your camera when you got the lens? I do not think the iris ring will work unless you do this first.

Good Luck. I sure hope it is something like this and not a defect.

Exactly, you must update your camera firmware (included).

Thanks for the exteriors Jonas.

There seems to be slight colour fringing/chromatic aberrations in places, although probably not so noticeable in a moving image.

Can you remember the f/stop settings for each of the exterior shots shown?

It would be nice to view a side-by-side test between the XL 3XSD and 6XHD lenses to see how much of an improvement has been made with new lens - in both perfomance and handling.

I think the fringing is far less then in the 20x lens!

Sorry, I did the exteriors in a rush, and did not make notes of the f-stops!

Will, as posted earlier, the 6X ships with an SD Card with the firmware upgrade needed for it to communicate with camera. Be careful you don't throw it away with packaging. Don't have our 6X yet (coming from Zotz Digital) - could someone describe the packaging of the SD card so others don't lose it.

Found it. :) didn't see it when I first opened the box.

That's what happens when you can't wait to play with a new toy.

thanks

It's easy to miss...especially if you are tossing things out quickly to get to the lens :)

It is with a 3" by 4" folded piece of paper in a plastic sleeve.
