Condensation?: Canon XL-1
I keep getting Error Message to Eject Tape, blinking
icon: relating to Condensation. Does anyone know how to re-set? I have had tape door open in warm room for many hours, plenty of time for anything to dry out, as manual suggests. Can anyone suggest way to "unfreeze" features? Thanks!!! |

Condensation
Might I suggest that you check out your tape's condition. On occasion I have had the same problem. I believe it is a problem of camera/tape difference in temperature. One is tintanium, the other plastic.
Most times, you probably take the tape out of a pocket, where it is warm. The poor little beastie, that you are about to insert it into, is at room, or out door temperature. It can be quite a difference, as you can well understand. I usually pack 2 or 3 tapes velcroed to my camera. That way they are all at the same temperature. The only equipment that I deliberately keep warm are the various batteries needed to power the cam & mike's & lights. Best.
