True realtime perfomance w/Xena LHe & workflow questions

I searched but couldn't find any post with this info and just wanted to hear from those actually using this setup.

We're getting ready to go to a HDSDI workflow with the Xena LHe in a field capture unit and using the Sony EX3 and NEO HD. The field converted files will be downloaded into our normal quad workstations (RAID 0's, dual monitors - one with x64 other with 32bit) for editing and output.

Just a few short questions in relation to going to HDSDI:
  1. what can we realistically expect as to realtime performance with multi-layers when working with our production norm: 1920x1080p material?
  2. we have a mix of Dell monitors (2408WFP's, etc.). How is the best way to output to these monitors? (upgrading is NOT an option right now). Each system has one 24" and one 17" right now.
  3. Can separate audio be embedded in the field AVI's and is it synced with the video input?

I'm a little shaky on how to impliment audio in a dual channel field scenerio, (as in how to sync with separate video). Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Much of our material is done flying a Steadicam, so separate audio is usually nicer.

Thanks for any words of wisdom

1) Preview and Full modes are stilll available over HDSDI. So in Preview 4-6 streams, lots. In full resolution, 2-3 streams, on most dual core system. The HDSDI does add much overhead.

2) We use the AJA HDSDI to DVI adaptors.

3) You can add extra audio to the timeline without issue. And there are tools (like VirtualDub) that will multiplex separate video and audio streams into one AVI.

David, is it possible to view S-video from the card instead of HD-SDI with Cineform files on Windows?

I have a JVC TM-H150CG video monitor and would save some money if i dont have to buy the IF-C21SDG that enables HD-SDI to the video monitor, hence the question.

Btw, any news regarding preview from a Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro card, or any other Blackmagic Design card? :)
