What can I do to make this background better?

I am working on having an animated background for (audio) radio interviews and this is what I have so far:

Yfrog - testbackground

I am using AE, and am looking for suggestions for making it look more professional, and maybe some animation ideas for the fractal noise background.

Any ideas? Feel free to criticize.

Add Depth

Right now it's only two layers, that background (blue and busy) and the foreground images.

Try adding some layers between the two, possibly static or moving vertical lines so you don't fully cover up the background. What you'll then find is that you can go with a less busy background and add more depth through simple layering. The more layers you add, the simpler each particular element can be.

Depending on what you want the viewer to focus on and how long they have to absorb it all, should also determine just how complex you want it to be.
