waveform monitor on mac
 

Anybody know of a program for mac that emulates a waveform monitor that I can use to monitor hdv1 720p 24fps? Something affordable?

Is that the only one out there? thanks tim

Adobe On Location CS4. You connect your camera to your laptop using Firewire (HDV or DV).

In our case we have a Sony EX3. We have to change the recording format to one of the HDV settings (Sony calls them SQ) to make it work with On Location. This is kind of a pain because we don't normally shoot HDV so we can't monitor while we're shooting. But it's nice to have a scope on location when setting the lighting on a green screen. It works great for this.

We could use our AJA Io HD to convert the HD-SDI output into Firewire, but I've been too lazy to disconnect it from our system and bring it on green screen shoots. :)
