uh... Dylan ... did your entry, by any chance, slip in under the radar too :')
Daniel,

Don't think that it makes much difference. When I checked my movie this morning to confirm it was actually there, it played and then it linked me to the other DVC#9 entries!!! :)

You can't win with some of these systems!!!!!!!!

Hi Daniel,

Youtube allowed me sign up, but when I try to upload the movie it tells me I need to enter my password with a new email address. It will then send me a confirmation link so I can upload. That's where the problem comes in.

I've re-entered my old email address, also given it my gmail address.

Hey, Mike--thanks for the early morning phone call! :)

I don't remember having to do that, I used just one email address. I would just go and sign-up again from scratch and make sure you follow all the steps.

Hi Dylan,

I tried everything I could find to remove my film from the group, so that I could re-join the group, under the radar.

I couldn't get my film to disappear from the group.

I did however discover that group or no group, you can find anyone's video that has already been uploaded to YouTube. That is why I thought you where uncloaked as well to begin with ...

I didn't mean to watch it! ... or the other early entrant's entries ... at least I waited until after my own entry was on-line. I swear I didn't steal anyones idea!

Are you kidding? I had enough trouble finding one username it would accept! LOL! Gotta go for now, but I'll look into it this afternoon. Thanks!

Ditto.. that's why I asked. Uploading the film should be really easy. You shouldn't need any email notification .... although, i think I know what you are talking about.

Is it possible that you signed up to YouTube with a different email address than the one you are using for notification?

Lorinda....go to youtube's home page, log out if it knows who you are. Click the signup button at the top. Under the member login there is a link to "Login using your google account." Use it, log in via your google name and pass.

You will have to create a different youtube account than the one you are trying to verify now....but hey it works.

Randy

You might try using your existing youtube account and but change the email address to your google email. That might let you keep the first youtube account instead of creating a new one.

YouTube and username

I originally signed up about 7 months ago and YouTube would not allow me to register under ANY variant of usernames I've been using.

Bif

biforeman

bruceforeman

nor any variation of the above, I don't like numbers but I'm already bruceforeman28 and bruceforeman31 on a couple of military heritage sites. I've occasionally used "Hipshot" (Hipshot Percussion from the old Rick O'Shay comic strips) but that was already taken.

So after about 20 minutes of try this try that I finally tried DanangDenizen (Having been stationed at Danang AB in VietNam in another lifetime and it accepted that.

If Dylan is going to keep YouTube posting as a rule, after this challenge is all over I'll probably try to find a username closer to what people recognize me as and open a new account, then close the current one.

Boy, on YouTube my entry looks like ..... Well, I try not to use bad language, I was taught that was a sure indication of inability to express oneself.

Oooohhhh!!!!! I don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong, but none of these suggestions are working. I tried your google idea, Randy, but it got hung up on that d**n email thing again.

Right now I'm at my office computer, signed up from scratch using a new username, new email address--the whole thing. It welcomed me aboard, then told me to enter my email address for confirmation and follow the link once it showed up. It never showed. Again.

About ten minutes ago I even got to join the DVChallenge Youtube group, yet, when I try to do anything it goes right back to that friggin' email thing.

Sorry, Bruce, for the cussing, but there are times when it just makes a person feel a little better. I'm so p***ed off right now I can't see straight.

And it's too early for a beer...

Ah, don't be silly! If you don't start drinking in the morning, you can't drink all day!

Geez Lorinda - I thought you were master ess of the Universe. I thought you could command all...especially the lowly speck of nothingness, youtube.

Sheesh. Now I must go away and re-think my place in this world.

Well folks, with two phone calls my dear Bradley Marlow confirmed one of his places in this world as tops in my eyes. After talking and walking me through clearing caches and cookies and all things evil on my PC we still couldn’t get YouTube to like me. So, Brad kindly downloaded my movie to his computer and uploaded it to the YouTube DV Challenge group.

All is well until DVC10. Too bad this little stinker of a movie wasn’t worth all the trouble it caused.

Brad….you are the best!!!!

And thank you’s all around for those of you who tried to help.

Whew!

I feel better now that my entire world perspective has been re-established.

You're tops in my book too, Lorinda. Thank you kindly.

Side Note Update: Lorinda- your film is on your youtube page and you have a subscription to Dylan's DV Challenge Group.

By the way - I know that Dylan's DV Challenge Group is the Go To link and have no intention of interfering with that.

Just wanted to let interested parties know that back in February, I created a DVC'ers Group and added all the past DV Challenge videos I could find. I'm sure there are many that I have missed and welcome anyone from dvinfo.net to join and add their short films. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/group/thedvcers

I hope that is OK with you Dylan. If not - I'll take the whipping now.

LOL ! Quite OK, I've not only heard pretty much all of it but probably said it, too.

Really started watching what I was saying when my sweet little 2 yr old girl played back with her dolls some of the things she had heard me saying. Only problem was a few days later she did it in front of her Mom.

Dawg House residence ain't fun. (Dang! 40 years ago)
