Thanks Chris, that's helpful -- we're still chipping away at it,

Keep your fingers crossed,

Chris, I've done that, and still no notifications at all.
By the way, I got 3 notifications a few days ago, but that's all.

Dave Stern November 19th, 2008 06:48 PM

got one 45 mins ago after weeks with nothing ... so something's happening ...

Looks like you've got it fixed. The email is now the same as it was.

Everyone should be able to get notifications again.

Good job Chris H.!

Ervin Farkas November 19th, 2008 08:37 PM

Yay! Two notifications!

After almost a month, I got two notifications today at 7PM.

Thanks Chris! Is it safe to switch back to "instant notification"?

Jenn Kramer November 19th, 2008 09:28 PM

It took us a while to find a celestial virgin to sacrifice. Texas, you know...

Chris Hurd November 19th, 2008 09:55 PM

Thanks a bunch for sussing this thing out, Jenn... I was beginning to lose some hair...

Jeff Harper November 20th, 2008 02:32 AM

Still nothing for me.

Hmmm... I thought this place was politics and religion free... I suppose it's fine if the young girl was *digital*, hehehe...

It has been definitely a good time for me... by far my most popular post.

Chris Hurd November 20th, 2008 06:57 AM

Who says it's a girl... heh heh heh.

Anyone still not getting notices, besides Jeff H.?

Hmm, not sure you fixed it yet, Chris.
I still don't get any notifications at all. Not for this thread, and not for any of the other threads I subscribe to.

Ian Stark November 20th, 2008 07:02 AM

Sorry Chris, add me to the list of 'still not getting any' (so to speak).

Chris Hurd November 20th, 2008 07:40 AM

Jenn was in the middle of getting rid of all the "hardy2" email, and she's also reconfiguring the server, so I don't think we're through with all of this just yet. But she's on it though.

Mike Gunter November 20th, 2008 10:44 AM

I think I'm not getting anything.

Jenn Kramer November 20th, 2008 12:37 PM

There are multiple issues here, one of which is that some mail hosts, specifically 1&1, just don't like us. Unfortunately from our end there's not a ton I can do. If you host mail there you could try contacting their customer service, but I've done all the white-listing and non-spam verification I can do from this side.

Jenn Kramer November 20th, 2008 01:24 PM

I've made a few more tweaks that may help things. Unfortunately someone keeps flagging messages from the boards as spam, which gets us put onto spam host blacklists. I've rerouted outgoing email so it may have a better shot at life, we'll see what happens.

Ian Stark November 20th, 2008 01:36 PM

I'm getting some! Thanks Jenn and Chris for your efforts.

Vito DeFilippo November 20th, 2008 02:01 PM

Just got my first one in a long while. Thanks, you guys!

Jeff Harper November 20th, 2008 02:15 PM

Got my first one also!

Dave Stern November 20th, 2008 06:21 PM

got one just now on aol, ironically enough on this thread ("no noification" update).. but I think I am subsribed to other threads that are updating but don't have msgs for those .. will have to check my subscription status to those threads..

Jeff Harper November 20th, 2008 08:12 PM

I have received bunches!

Josh Chesarek November 20th, 2008 10:02 PM

Just got one through my self...

Lorinda Norton November 21st, 2008 02:53 AM

And just that quickly (when others finally started receiving) my notifications now aren't being routed to my msn account. Doesn't matter, though--it won't hurt me to go to my gmail account to check. :)

Adam Letch November 21st, 2008 03:17 AM

Mike Gunter November 21st, 2008 08:14 AM

I'm notified.

Trond Saetre November 22nd, 2008 04:17 AM

I got one notification mail today, but none about this thread.

I'm using yahoo mail.

Graham Bernard November 22nd, 2008 05:05 AM

Trond, I got notif of your 10:17 AM one above.

But still no NEW posts button to working.

Grazie

Jeff Harper November 23rd, 2008 04:04 PM

Well, it's happening again for me, or I should say, not happening. No notifications since yesterday. It was working swimmingly.

Just got a big batch a few hours ago, though some were quite late. Would appear it is still being worked on. Good work guys, thanks for your efforts.

Trond Saetre November 25th, 2008 07:45 AM

The notification emails are slowly getting back.
I still don't receive all I should, but almost.

Thanks Chris, for spending so much time fixing this!

Jason Davis November 28th, 2008 10:09 PM

New posts not viewable

Not sure if I have something setup wrong or I am not doing something right? I have been replying in a couple of threads (that I have started). I will get an e-mail telling me that someone has responded, but when I go to the actual thread there posts are not there, and my responses are not visible either??? Also seems like the date is wrong, posts from yesterday say they were posted today?? What am I doing wrong

Chris Hurd November 28th, 2008 10:24 PM

Yeah, we're aware of that and are working to get it sorted out. Hang in there.

Steve Phillipps December 4th, 2008 05:24 AM

New Posts not showing

When I post a question it's not coming up in New Posts for some reason. Also, when I click New Posts it lists about 33 pages. Something's gone wrong with my account I think, it does the same on other computers too.
Can you help me out please. I think I've posted things and got no replies 'cos no-ones seen them!
Cheers,
Steve

Jenn Kramer December 4th, 2008 09:43 AM

Hey Steve, have you tried logging out and logging back in?

Steve Phillipps December 5th, 2008 04:43 AM

Lots of times! And deleted cookies etc.
My new posts just don't seem to come up, did this come up as a new post for you?
Steve

I have the same problem! Posting lead to a time out error message. When I re-post I often get a dobbe-posting, very frustrating!

Jenn Kramer December 5th, 2008 11:20 AM

If you guys can send me your browser/os versions, I'll see if I can replicate. This came up as a new post for me, and I haven't gotten any post timeout messages in the last couple of days.

Steve Phillipps December 5th, 2008 04:08 PM

I'm on Windows XP and Google. Every time I click new posts it says there are 35 pages of them!
Steve

Jenn Kramer December 5th, 2008 07:38 PM

You'll see lots of pages of New Posts unless you clear the forum read list under quicklinks. At some point in the list you'll see a line like this:

The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts.

Everything above that are things that were posted since the last time you visited the site, everything below are things posted previously but you haven't read. (Or since you cleared your forum read list.)

Graham Bernard December 6th, 2008 11:21 AM

I'm getting New Posts now.

I logged-out asked and got a new pw and off I went! 884 New posts!!!

Chris - I'm Baaack . . .!

Grazie
